Roadmap

bonbox grew out of personal interest, so it holds all kinds of things that matter to us. Here are a few ideas for the future of bonbox that we'll tackle as time and need allow:

  1. Email your receipts to bonbox

    Plenty of receipts land in your inbox as email. It would be enormously handy to just send them to XYZ@bonbox.io and find them in your bonbox at the next login.

  2. Year-end export for your accountant

    One Zip per year: all receipts with readable filenames plus an overview your accountant can work from directly. The tax report can already export the receipts along with it, but sometimes a Zip is more practical.

  3. Depreciation

    Depreciation does exist as a tax category, but it isn't thought through yet. The idea is to record assets like laptops, cameras and the like, which then flow into your books as depreciation automatically. The hard part is keeping the whole thing from overwhelming you (and us).

  4. VAT

    VAT can be recorded in a few places in the app, but it isn't a coherent concept yet. That can be done better.

  5. bonbox as an app on Mac and Windows

    A real app for your desktop instead of the browser.
